Trouble enlarging Gaijin Jump?

If a larger view does not appear when you click directly on the Gaijin Jump comic strip, your browser is probably set not to allow pop-up windows. This is a wise precaution. However, it also prevents you from seeing larger images of the comic strip.

Try changing your browser settings to allow pop-up windows or, if your browser allows this, requested pop-up windows. I can’t tell you how to change this setting in all browsers, but here are instructions for some of them.

Internet Explorer — Only the latest Windows version of Internet Explorer allows you to block pop-up windows. To unblock pop-up windows on this Web site, click “Tools,” “Pop-up Blocker,” then “Pop-up Blocker Settings.” In the dialog box, under “Address of Web site to allow,” type “crchapin.com” and click the “Add” button.

Netscape, Mozilla — Click “Tools,” “Popup Manager,” then “Allow Popups From This Site.”

Firefox, Camino — In Windows (and probably Linux), click “Tools,” then “Options;” in Mac OS X, click the application name in the menu bar, then “Preferences.” On left side of the dialog box, click “Web Features.” On the right side, across from “Block Popup Windows” (which I recommend leaving checked), click the “Allowed Sites” button. Under “Address of web site,” type “crchapin.com” and click the “Allow” button.

Opera — In Windows, click “Tools;” in Mac OS X, click the application name in the menu bar. Click “Quick Preferences,” then “Block unwanted pop-ups.” If that is already selected, try “Open all pop-ups,” but remember to change this setting later.

Safari — Click the application name in the menu bar, then uncheck “Block Pop-Up Windows.” Remember to check it again later.

OmniWeb — OmniWeb lets you set a universal preference for all Web sites (except for those specified) and a preference for individual Web sites.

  • To allow requested pop-up windows for all Web sites (except for those you specify) in OmniWeb, click the application name in the menu bar, then “Preferences.” In the dialog box, click “Ad Blocking.” Then for “Block pop-up windows” select “Only when not requested.”
  • To allow pop-up windows for this Web site specifically, click the application name (OmniWeb) in the menu bar, then “Show Site Preferences.” In the pane that appears, click the “Preferences for file” tab, then the “Ad Blocking” tab. I recommend setting the “Block pop-up windows” option to “Only when not requested.”
